One of my 2012 goals is to focus on characters in my personal art. Here is the first one of 2012. Based on a drawing that was given to me as a gift from a past co-worker and good friend of mine, Jeremy Vanhoozer. Check out his awesome blog The Paper Robot!

Started working on Ghost Rider in zbrush. Since I mostly do low-poly environment art at work I’m a bit out of practice with zbrush. Had to go back and watch some tutorials.

While watching/listening to those tutorials I cranked out this little low-poly cyclops guy. I’d like to take him into 3d coat to try out their poly paint tools.

And here is a third character I’ve been working on this week, something for a game idea I had. Used the base mesh I created for the Ghost Rider.

Lots going on and so little time!

I’ve been pretty busy the past few weeks.  Between heading to Montreal and coming down with the worst sickness of my entire adult life, I haven’t made a whole lot of progress with my bathtub blimp. But progress in small bits I have made! Sadly there is still a whole lot to do, and I’ll be putting it on hold for a few weeks. Why you ask?

This is why! Dominance War V starts soon. But before it starts there will be a Pre-Dominance War contest. This is all about low poly assets with hand painted textures.  Something near and dear to my little meaty red heart. The only problem, it already started. A week ago in fact. Due to my limited internet access in the wilds of Canada’s big city, I was unaware of the impending contest. So now I play the catch up game. And alas, I must put my luxury blimp on hold. But stay tuned! I’ll be posting my Dominance War entry as it progresses to Dominance.
