Here is a pumpkin for a lowpoly holloween contest at the lowpoly workshop.
I had a lot of fun working on this one.

In another bit of news, I’ve got a new stone and wood tutorial on the way. Learned a lot since making the originals and want to update them a bit.
Here is my finished WW1 Ghost Rider for the comicon Challenge over at Game Artisans. I barely finished it up on time!

The flames are actually 3D planes around the head. I hid them on the wireframe image below so it wouldn’t obscure the face. Looking back I should have included them, oh well. Too late now.

I’m happy with the way it turned out. I wish I didn’t have to rush the flames and the pose. Started on those with 45 minutes left. But overall I’m pleased. I had to figure out the whole baking process and it was a huge learning experience and a ton of fun.
Thanks for checking it out!
Downloaded the demo of 3D coat. Here is a quickie to help me learn the program.

Something quick after watching the movie ‘The Fighter’ a few weeks ago. Spent some time doing test with the camera effects in Unity. This is a screen grab with no editing.
Unity Viewport

I finished my sword in the stone environment. I’m very happy with the way it turned out.

Here is some additional scene views.

And a shot of the scene in Unity 3D.

With the release of our game I’m back to cranking out some personal art. Mostly working on finishing up my sword in the stone environment. My computer died on me about a month ago and I lost a lot of progress. I had to redo a large portion of the scene I posted earlier. But I’m all caught up on the modeling, everything has been UV mapped, and I’m currently texturing. Figured I’d post this as a little preview.

I’ve always found texturing to be my weakness. But I’m a huge fan of hand painted texture work and really put my focus into learning it. I still have a long way to go, but it feels great to go from not being able to texture at all to reaching a place that I feel comfortable with it within a few years.
Despite the recent Dominance War drama (Story), I’m still plugging away at my entry. I Started working on my final presentation, see how it will all look once it’s together. I’m not completely happy with the pose, still working on that. I also need to paint a bit more lighting into my texture and fix up the skin areas. Due to the contest shenanigans the deadline has been moved to the 15th. I still have some work to do, but I’m pretty close. I’ll be starting work on an entry for the eat3d mini environment challenge. Should be a fun one, and being an environment challenge it’s a bit more familiar. But once again it already started so I’ll be playing catch up. When the dominance war deadline gets closer I’ll finish this one up. But for now it will do!

Still plugging away at my Dominance War entry. I’ve still got a ton to texture, seams to fix, large shading to paint, and colors to adjust. I’m aiming to finish the texture on Saturday, that leaves me all day Sunday to pose the character, work on the shader, and give it a fancy presentation. It’s all due Monday, so I’ve got a bit of a scramble.

Still plugging away at my Dominance War entry. It seems I have a never ending to-do list. One step at a time I guess.
I hope everyone had an awesome thanksgiving. I’ve sure got a lot to be thankful for. Overall it’s been a pretty good year.

Here is some progress on my Dominance War entry. Still a very long way to go.
